The organisation of the Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity has already become a tradition for the Polish community in Spain. On the Costa del Sol, the coast of the sun, the GOCC will play once again on 26 January – at Caseta Cepyme Chiringuito on the Recinto Ferial in Fuengirola.
This year’s list of auctioned items and gadgets included no shortage of sporting accents, among them:
- Polish national football team jersey autographed by its members,
- ball autographed by the players of the Polish national football team,
- men’s national handball team jersey autographed by its members – winners of a silver and two bronze medals at the World Championships – framed,
- golf ball autographed by Adrian Meronek – the best Polish golfer,
- tennis ball autographed by Hubert Hurkacz – the leading Polish and world tennis player.
Many of the sporting memorabilia were auctioned during the Polish Business Council’s Golf Independence Tournament in Marbella as part of the ‘Golfers – Flood victims’ campaign. The winners of the auction donated them to the GOCC headquarters on the Costa del Sol.
Other exceptional items were also put up for auction: Mariusz Czerkawski’s jersey and the puck with which he scored a goal during the match at Torwar, as well as a book with his autograph, and Andrzej Wrona’s jersey from PGE Projekt Warszawa with the autographs of the players.
The organisers are preparing a range of attractions, combining Polish and Spanish traditions for a worthy cause. As every year, they promise great fun, a hot atmosphere and exceptional energy.
