On the Costa del Sol and in Marbella we played for the GOCC!

On 28 January in Fuengirola, we organised the headquarters of the 31st edition of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The Agnes Inversiones team once again supported the Spanish finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, which not only achieved a record collection result, but also became an important local event – integrating Poles with Spaniards.

Power of excitement and record-breaking auction

One of the integral elements of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity is the auction of items and services donated by people of goodwill. The Costa del Sol finale organised by Agnes Inversiones was no different. The entire team and numerous volunteers were involved, and the event itself was preceded by several days of preparation.

The biggest hit in this year’s auction was a jersey signed by the captain of the Polish national team and FC Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski. After an exciting duel between donors, the jersey was successfully auctioned for a record sum of €2,500! This was the largest single donation ever collected in the history of the GOCC in Spain – in Gibraltar and the Costa del Sol.

Other items and services donated and auctioned off for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity included golf training with one of Poland’s most popular PROs, Adrian Kaczała, a photography course, as well as vouchers for personal coaching, beauty services or dog behaviour training offered by a Polish community living on the south coast of Spain.

Artistic performances were also an important part of the 31st GOCC finale celebrations on the Costa del Sol. All those who came to the headquarters in Fuengirola could listen to a recital by violinist Alicja Staręga, dance to 90s hits performed by Christine Blondet, and experience the work of local band POP FM. The programme also included attractions and animations for children, including the traditional face painting.

The event could not lack delicious refreshments. Everyone who came had the opportunity to taste traditional Polish dishes – such as borscht and bigos, or the excellent cakes prepared by the locals, including cheesecake, apple pie and karpatka. All this allowed us to feel, for a moment, a truly Polish atmosphere on the Costa del Sol.

GOCC unites people in the region

This year’s GOCC finale on the Costa del Sol was the first after a two-year pandemic. The event, highly anticipated by the local community, was a great opportunity to cement and strengthen ties between our compatriots – who live on the Costa del Sol – and the local community. Among the people we were able to meet and talk to were many of Agnes Inversiones’ clients, and participants in the event even came from Gibraltar.

Together with the local community, we managed to raise a total of €20,013, and around 700 people attended the event! This confirms that together we are creating a community that not only enjoys the opportunity to be involved in a common charitable cause, but also feels great in each other’s company, spending time together.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the organisation of the event and decided to spend this Saturday afternoon with us, making a major contribution to the success of the 31st Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity on the Costa del Sol. See you next year!

Together we can do more!
