Casares – live in Pueblos Blancos!

When we think of Andalusia, cities such as Seville, Granada or Marbella are often our first association. However, the true symbols representing the character of Andalusia are the “White Villages” such as Mijas Pueblo or Casares – one of the most beautiful places in this part of Spain.

A city from a postcard

Added: To say that Casares is beautiful is like saying absolutely nothing. This picturesque town, located on the western part of the Costa del Sol, and the photos from it, can successfully serve as postcard views sent from sunny Spain.

Casares is a traditional White Village where you can feel the true climate of Andalusia, different from the one we know from the big cities. What most distinguishes Pueblos Blancos from all other Spanish towns are the lime-painted stone houses adorning the mountain slopes, with countless charming narrow alleys leading between them.

Roman origins

The history of Casares dates back to the Roman rule of the Iberian Peninsula, and its construction is said to have been commissioned by Julius Caesar himself – according to some sources, he did so in gratitude for his recovery from bathing in Baños de la Hedionda. However, the present shape of Casares owes much to the period of Moorish rule in the Iberian Peninsula, which we have written more about here.

It would seem that, with the development of the large cities scattered along the coast, the Pueblos Blancos are doomed to extinction. Nothing could be further from the truth! Towns such as Casares attract a huge number of tourists every year who are interested in the culture of Andalusia and want to admire the historic Andalusian architecture of everyday life up close.

Live in an Andalusian White Village

The great interest in the Pueblos Blancos by tourists visiting the Costa del Sol has led to a significant increase in their investment potential. This, in turn, has led to the creation of new residential projects aimed at those seeking a quiet life in picturesque settings characterised by a quieter rhythm of life. If this is a concept that appeals to you, then be sure to take a look at the property listings we have selected in Casares.

Modernity in the middle of Andalusian classics

If you are planning to invest in a rental property, then you should definitely pay attention to the modern residential complex being developed in the Casares area. Future owners have the option of choosing a 1, 2 or 3 bedroom flat, housed in small buildings surrounded by lush, exotic vegetation.

The designers of the complex have ensured the highest standards in the design and finish of the flats – each is equipped with Porcelanosa ceramics, kitchens with Bosch appliances and Technal windows for maximum insulation. What’s more, residents will have green areas with pools and artificial beaches at their disposal, playing the role of relaxation zones.
