In the first three quarters of 2024 alone, Poles bought more than 3,000 houses and flats on the Iberian Peninsula. All indications are that the past year will end with another record – the figure of 3118 properties achieved in 2023 is to be beaten.
In an interview with Adam Roguski of Rzeczpospolita, Agnieszka Marciniak-Kostrzewa referred to the announcements concerning a 100 per cent property tax for non-EU buyers. Although it does not apply to Poles and it is unclear whether it will come into force at all, it has been widely commented on. Participants in the ‘Rzecz o nieruchomościach’ programme also discussed:
- What the growing interest of Poles in investing in Spain is due to,
- which properties on the Iberian Peninsula our compatriots are most likely to buy: typical investment properties or first or second homes,
- What changes lie ahead for the Spanish property market.
