Luxury hotels in Marbella

Do you know what the Costa del Sol is famous for? It is a dream place to spend a holiday and a lifetime! Tourists from all over the world and investors who buy luxury villas, flats and building plots in and around Marbella, the most beautiful in Spain, know this!

A princely investment – Marbella Club Hotel

Marbella developed from a small village into a resort in the mid-20th century. Prince Alfonso de Hohenlohe-Langenburg was the first to invest here, buying land to build luxury hotels. Already in 1954, the Marbella Club Hotel, located on the Golden Mile, was opened. The prince knew how to advertise his investment. He invited personalities from all over Europe to Marbella. Maria Callas and Aristotelis Onasis, for example, spent their holidays here. Thus began the fashion for Marbella, which continues to this day.

Golden Mile – the resort way

This is where it all began. Two of the most important hotels were built along the Golden Mile: the Marbella Club and the Puente Romano, which helped create and develop Marbella’s status as a luxury resort. The Golden Mile is one of the most beautiful avenues in Spain. Along it stand stunning palaces, residences and hotels. The road stretches from Plaza Bocanegra to Río Verde (near Puerto Banus). It used to be the main route along the coast that ran here back in Roman times – it was then part of the road from Rome to Cadiz, and the Puente Romano bridge is a remnant of this.

Hotel Puente Romano

Prince Alfonso de Hohenlohe still had ideas for investments in Marbella. He wanted to build another luxury hotel next to the remains of the Puento Romano. Mouaffak Al Midani, one of the frequent visitors to the Marbella Club Hotel, became very interested in the prince’s idea. After much negotiation, he succeeded in acquiring the plot of land to make the grand opening of the Puente Romano Hotel in 1979.

Today, after more than 40 years, it is still a luxury hotel that meets the requirements of guests who appreciate the highest standards. Located in the middle of the complex, a restored Roman-era bridge gives the hotel an unusual aura. The same is true of the hotel’s luxurious interiors, designed by renowned British architect Andrew Martin. The comfortable conditions combined with the sensational views from the hotel windows make you want to stay in Marbella forever.

The Puente Romano Hotel, is appreciated not only by its visitors, but also by luxury and internationally recognised hotel brands. Confirmation of its position and importance to the hotel base on the Costa del Sol is the fact that a few years ago, part of the hotel was arranged for the Nobu Hotel chain, founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Meir Treper and Robert de Niro.

Many billionaires and celebrities have already succumbed to the charm of this Andalusian city and have decided to make Marbella their home. Antonio Banderas has his villa, vineyard and restaurant here. And Marbella’s front-page residents include Novak Djokovic!

New projects

The high attractiveness of Marbella, both in terms of investment and tourism, is evidenced by the planned and ongoing development projects. According to the data made available, in the Marbella and Estepona area alone, there are 19 complexes of varying standards planned and under construction, which will significantly increase the accommodation base in this part of the Costa del Sol.

Visitors to the Costa del Sol already have the opportunity to rent a luxury villa or flat or take advantage of the excellent hotels such as the aforementioned Puente Romano and Marbella Club – the region’s iconic hotels – as well as the luxurious Don Pepe, Los Monteros and Ikos Hotel. And that’s not all! The portfolio of prestigious hotel complexes in Marbella will soon be expanded with establishments from internationally recognised hotel brands such as Four Seasons Hotel and Starwood “W” Hotel and Resort.

Luxury hotels not only attract more visitors to Marbella, but are also a sign of the prestige of the area and increase the value of the property. A villa or flat near Puente Romano or overlooking the Marbella Club is a secure investment that will pay dividends for years to come.

Politicians, artists and the cream of society from around the world flock to Marbella for its microclimate and charm. This city was created for luxury living and leisure, which attracts premium clients. The most expensive yachts owned by billionaires are moored in the Puerto Banus marina, world-famous actors can be found in the boutiques of famous designers, and medallists in both sports train on the golf courses and tennis courts. The weather, the climate, the attractions, the proximity to Malaga International Airport – these aspects make the resort vibrant all year round.
